Legal Requirement
As a landlord, you are legally required to ensure the electrical installation in your rental properties is safe.
- Have an EICR carried out at least every 5 years, or sooner if stated on the report
- Have the report carried out by a qualified and competent electrician
- Provide a copy of the EICR to your tenants within 28 days of the inspection
- Address any unsafe electrical issues identified in the report within 28 days
- Keep a record of the EICR for at least 5 years
